How it works

PoolPot sells real Megapot tickets for the daily draw on Base. Every ticket bought here is pooled with the other tickets bought here for the same draw, and whatever the pooled tickets win is split equally per ticket.

A day, draw by draw

  1. just after the previous draw settles
Tickets go on sale for today's draw. The first purchase of the day sets up that draw's pool contract on its own — no admin action, no waiting list.
  2. all day, until one minute before the draw
Buying tickets. You approve exactly the cost of your tickets and send one transaction. The Megapot tickets are bought in that same transaction and pooled with everyone else's for today's draw: either every ticket is bought, or nothing happens and your USDC never leaves your wallet.
  3. 17:00 UTC
The draw. Anyone can trigger Megapot's draw; tickets stop being sellable the moment it locks, so nobody can buy on late information.
  4. seconds later, sometimes longer
Settlement. Megapot publishes the winning numbers and the next draw goes on sale.
  5. any time after that
Collect prizes. Anyone can press “Collect prizes” on the results page or under My tickets: the pooled tickets' winnings are pulled into the pot for everyone. The presser keeps a bounty of 0.25% of what that press collects (at most $25 a transaction); the rest goes to the pot.
  6. whenever you like
Claim my share. A separate button that pays only you: your tickets × pot ÷ pooled tickets, minus what you already claimed. There is no deadline, and you can claim again if more is collected later.

The split, per ticket

Everything collected for a draw is divided by the number of tickets pooled for that draw. Every ticket is worth the same, whoever picked it and whichever numbers it holds.

Example. 1,000 tickets are pooled for a draw and they collect $500. Each ticket is worth $0.50. If you hold 10 tickets you claim $5.00; if you hold 1 ticket you claim $0.50.

Your entitlement is your tickets × pot ÷ pool tickets, minus whatever you already claimed. The pot only ever grows, so a later collection simply makes a little more claimable.

Numbers and quick picks

  • Pick your own 5 numbers plus a bonusball, as many tickets as you like.
  • Your numbers may repeat a ticket someone else already holds — that is allowed, and the builder shows you how many copies exist.
  • A quick pick is generated by the contract and is never a copy of any ticket already pooled for that day's draw.
  • The numbers you can choose come from the drawing itself, so the grids follow Megapot's settings.

Auto-buy and the tip

An auto-buy plan is a small escrow contract that only you can close. You prefund it — so many tickets a day for so many days — and each day's purchase is a single permissionless call.

  • You can press “Buy today's tickets” yourself, at any time while tickets are on sale.
  • If you set a tip (at most $0.50 a day; the form suggests one that covers the trigger's gas), anyone else can press it for you from the public waiting list and receive the tip from your escrow. Pressing it yourself pays no tip.
  • The waiting list also has one “Fund all” button that buys the day for every waiting plan in a single transaction and pays the presser every tip at once. A plan that cannot buy that day is skipped, never blocks the others, and consumes nothing.
  • Your escrow can only ever leave the plan two ways: as that day's ticket purchase, credited to you at the day's ticket price, or back to you when you cancel. Only you can cancel.
  • A day that is not bought consumes nothing: the plan simply continues.
  • If the ticket price rises, later days buy fewer tickets; the remainder comes back when you cancel.
  • If one of your fixed picks is out of range for a drawing, that day uses a quick pick instead.

How the admin earns

Every ticket the pool buys names the admin address as Megapot's referrer. Megapot credits that address a share of the ticket price at purchase and a share of prizes when they are claimed, at rates Megapot sets.

  • The purchase share comes out of Megapot's own revenue, not out of your ticket.
  • A winner receives the same amount with or without a referrer.
  • The admin withdraws that balance directly from Megapot. Our contracts give the admin no other power.
  • The admin address can be handed over in two steps — propose, then accept — and a change only affects future purchases.
